LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR
Designed for the beginner, this crash course in how to play the
guitar will teach you basic chords, strumming patterns and guitar tab. Proper
techniques, counting/tempo and “How to learn a song on your own,” will start you

The Northumberland School of the Arts offers music classes that are taught by experts in their fields to share their passion and knowledge.

Jim holds an Music Degree from the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston. He spent many years performing and teaching private and group guitar lessons. He worked in recording studios as a session guitar player, recording engineer and composer/arranger. Jim worked closely with many artists including Rik Emmett (Triumph), Tom Cochrane, Liona Boyd and many other prominent Canadian musicians. He was mentioned in 1987 GUITAR WORLD magazine! In September 1992 he became Head of Music at Port Hope High School. Over the last 18 years Jim has remained actively involved in the music industry, producing, writing, and of course - performing!
